These armies are made up of specialized land and naval units.
In Grepolis there are a total of 25 military units, divided into three main groups:
-
- Land units.
- Naval units.
- Mythological units.

Remarkable! Its genuinely awesome paragraph, I have got much clear idea on the topic of from this post.

Slingers are a cheap offensive unit. They are pretty fast and, in large numbers, are very strong attackers. In defense they are much less useful. They are best against hoplites and other slingers.
Swordsmen are a slow defensive unit with heavy armor. They are effective in defense against several units. They are not recommended when attacking and should be used purely as a defensive units. They are strongest against ranged units such as slingers.
Archers have a relatively good speed and can carry a large amount of booty. However they are not good in attack, but are an essential part of a good defence. They are best used against hoplies and chariots.
Hoplites are a slow unit with sharp weapons. They are good in attack and reasonable in defence. Often hoplites are said to be a slow version of chariots , but they are slightly cheaper and cost less population in proportion to their attacking force.
Horsemen are very strong attacking units with high speed and a large carrying capacity for resources. They are quite expensive and have a very poor defence. They are best used against Swordsmen.
Chariots are a fast, strong unit. They are both powerful attackers and strong defenders. You can use Zeus' power "Divine Sign" to get chariots. They are expensive, but effective. Best used against Archers and Horsemen when attacking.
Catapults are special units. They do not really take part in a fight but can take out the walls of your enemy. They are expensive and take up a lot of population, but if you send enough with your attack, it will completely take out a level 25 wall. The Stone Hail research adds the capability to damage buildings in addition to the wall.
Transport Ships do not need to be researched. They can be built as soon as the harbour is built. They are the cheapest way to transport troops from one island to another. They carry more troops but are slower to reach their destination than Fast Transport Ships. Transport Ships do not fight and should be protected by other ships when attacking a city.
Biremes are extremely strong defense units. They are bad at attacking, but essential for naval defense.
Light Ships are strong attacking ships. They are the main offensive ship in the game. You should always send a Light Ship escort with your transport ships when attacking.
Fire Ships are ships that can only be used for defense: they are the last defense and will only enter into battle after the regular naval battle. Fire Ships can not destroy Colony Ships or Transport Ships. Each Fire Ship can destroy one other ship, however it is also destroyed when it does so.
Fast transport ships are a faster version of the regular Transport Ship. They carry fewer units, but travel much more quickly.
Triremes are expensive ships which can be used in both attack and defense. They are not as strong as a fleet of light ships or biremes.
Colony Ships are the most important unit in the game. You must build a colony ship in order to gain a new city.
On occasion it comes to pass that a lone warrior is chosen by the gods and blessed. From that moment on, he and his weapon represent the will of the gods. Train it at the Barracks.
You will need to worship any of the gods in the Temple. No specific building requirements
A Centaur is a warrior with the lower body of a horse. A Centaur quickly gallops past its enemies, shoots precise arrows and disappears again at the same speed. Centaurs are very strong in defending against sharp weapons.
(Must worship Athena and must have a temple level 4).
Cerberus was Hades' loyal watchdog, and he guarded the gates that granted access, and exit to the underworld.
(Must worship Hades and must have a temple level 10).
The Cyclops are rarely ever used in battle. They lack attack power, and the fact that it takes 2 transport boats to carry one Cyclop, makes them pretty much worthless in attack. In defense they can be useful but only under certain circumstances. If an enemy mainly uses Slingers and Horses then these troops can be very good. If the enemy attacks with Hoplites or Chariots your Cyclops are in trouble!
(Must worship Poseidon and must have a temple level 12).
In Greek mythology the Erinys were supernatural personifications of the anger of the dead. The Erinys emerged from the drops of blood of Uranus.
L'érinye est une des deux unités mythiques du dieu Hadès.
(Must worship Hades and must have a temple level 16).
The Medusa is a vicious killer, her Sharp attacks makes her a fearsome enemy both for defenders and to the invading forces, Cyclop and Pegasus flee before her.
(Must worship Hera and must have a temple level 10).
The Minotaur was stored in Knossos in Crete. Theseus managed to slay this terrible beast at the Labyrinth. Because Zeus favours offense it is a good attacking unit but is weak in defense. Train it at the Barracks. You need to worship Zeus in the Temple (and the temple must be level 10)
The Calydonian Boar is one of the monsters that had to be overcome by heroes of the Olympian age. Sent by Artemis to ravage the region of Calydon in Aetolia because its king failed to honor her in his rites to the gods, it was killed in the Calydonian Hunt, in which many male heroes took part, but also a powerful woman, Atalanta, who won its hide by first wounding it with an arrow. This outraged some of the men, with tragic results. Strabo was under the impression that the Calydonian Boar was an offspring of the Crommyonian Sow vanquished by Theseus.
Calydonian Boars are only available on hero worlds. You need to worship Artemis, and have level 10 temple
Hydras are very strong, slow moving serpent-like water monsters with multiple heads. Hydras are feared because of their poisonous breathe and their tendency to regrow two heads when one was cut off.
They are similar to triremes due to their high attack and defense values (A level 22 temple is required to recruit a hydra)
Many farmers report that creatures plunge from the skies on occasional stormy days - they are half bird, half woman. They grasp their prey in the blink of an eye before disappearing again at the same speed. Harpies can fly to other islands without transport ships.
(Must worship Hera and must have a temple level 5).
Manticores have the head of a lion, the wings of a dragon and the tail of a scorpion. They plunge from the sky, grab their prey with their claws, or sting it to death with their giant poisonous stinger. One of the most important qualities of the Manticore is its ability to fly. The Manticore has the ability to:
1:Fly to other islands without transport boats and
2:fly straight by the defender's navy.
(Must worship Zeus and must have a temple level 15).
A Pegasus is a winged horse that plunges from the sky during hopeless battles and helps the city. It's very strong in defending against blunt weapons. Pegasi can fly to other islands without transport ships.
(Must worship Athena and must have a temple level 12).
The griffin is a legendary creature with the body, tail, and back legs of a lion, the head and wings of an eagle and an eagle's talons as its front feet. As the lion was traditionally considered the king of the beasts and the eagle was the king of the birds, the griffin was thought to be an especially powerful and majestic creature. The griffin was also thought of as king of the creatures. Griffins are known for guarding treasure and priceless possessions. It's a symbol of divine power and a guardian of the divine.
(You need to worship Artemis, and have level 15 temple)
Sirens improve movement speed of all naval units by 2% for each Siren. (Up to at 100%)
Spartois take only 1 population space each in transport ships.
(Must worship Ares and must have a temple level 4)
Their festive and cheerful nature deceives many who face them in combat. But no man nor creature on land can out run their fearless chase. Swift like the wind and sharp as Aphrodite's charm, they will cut through defenses in no time.
(Must worship Aphrodite and must have a temple level 5).
Attacking targets with higher population than the combined population of all Ladons, increases all Ladon’s offensive power in this attack. For every 10 population difference, Ladon’s offensive power increase by 30% (up to 150%). Additionally, all other units in this attack gain 1% attack power per Ladon (up to 10%; this does not stack with Ladon’s offensive power increase).
(Must worship Ares and must have a temple level 15, and a Barracks level 20)
